This software is designed for Nord Modular patches (3.03) as a quick and easy way to assign midi controllers to all parameters with knobs already assigned. I use it when I've been playing with a patch for a while and decide I want to start recording my tweaking into midi sequencer. It saves all that time consuming 'right-clicking' in the Nord Modular Editor. You simply drop the patches onto the window and the software does the rest. The top left pane is set out like the 18 knobs on the Modular and lets you set the desired controller numbers for each knob. You can set controller numbers by using the sliders or by typing straight into the boxes. For example, if you set the first slider to '101' and then drop a patch with knob 1 assigned to 'Osc Slv E1 Detune' onto the top right hand pane, the software will edit the patch so that midi controller 101 is assigned to 'Osc Slv E1 Detune' etc. If you drop a patch on which doesn't have knob 1 assigned to any parameter, the controller will not be assigned. The "Existing Controller Mappings Take Precedence" checkbox enables you to prevent existing controller mappings from being overwritten. e.g. in the above example, if your patch already had another parameter assigned to midi controller 101 and you checked this box, the assignment for controller 101 would not change. If you left this box unchecked, then the software would change the assignment for controller 101. The 'File' menu lets you save and load mappings. The 'Status' window, simply reports which patches the software is changing, and gives a summary when all patches are done. Finally... no-one has had any problems with this software so far, but it *does* rewrite your patch files, so if you're paranoid (paranoia is quite healthy when using computers :/) backup first. Disclaimer: Nothing bad that happens is my fault :) Matt
